Every day in the news media, we read about the crisis in the housing market, excessive fees charged by banks for credit cards, burdensome student loan debt — all coming on top of the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath.Alliance Financial Ministries is dedicated to promoting financial literacy. Because of this commitment AFM is proud to announce MoneyLIVE 2013 essay contest. This year’s contest is sponsored by Capital One Bank. The essay contest is being launched to help spread knowledge about the world personal financial among high school students. The essay’s purpose is to challenge high school students to think about what financial literacy means to them and how possessing this knowledge will enable them to succeed in the future.
Contest Deadlines: All essays must be submitted by e-mail by Friday, May 29, 2015 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. Late essays will not be considered. All finalists will be notified by June 5, 2015 winners will be announced during MoneyLIVE 2015.

No. This essay contest emphasizes original ideas and creativity.

Essays should run 500 words or less.
