Time of giving: coat donation

The Newcomer Division of Multilingual Programs Department along with Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. teamed up to surprise students from Kashmere Gardens Elementary School and Scarborough High School by donating coats right before the Christmas break.

“My organization informed me that they had a surplus of jackets and would like to donate as many as possible,” says Multilingual Programs Specialist, Torrie Richardson. “Due to my having access to a wide age range of students, I conversed with Dr. Virginia Elizondo, Manager of Newcomer Division, and she stated that she would be ecstatic to partner with the organization.”

The rest was just smiles of joy from the students who were more than surprised by the donation.
