Today the Migrant Education Program is hosting its second Parent Meeting at Wisdom High School. All Migrant parents and students are encouraged to attend. During the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., families will learn more about the benefits of the program and will be provided valuable information by guest speakers from CaféCollege, Houston Community College and United Against Human Trafficking.
Students will receive free assistance and support with their college applications and financial aid forms.
Migrant Education Program manager, Magda Galindo, expressed the importance of their participation. “Parental involvement is essential. When students see their parents actively engaged in school, students achieve more and are more motivated.”
On Tuesday, November 28th, the division hosted this meeting at Sam Houston High School, where approximately 35 students and parents attended.
