A celebration of Hope honoring over 200 at-risk Wisdom High School students

Over 200 at-risk students from Wisdom HS, who are exempt from STAAR retesting in December, received a social emotional workshop where they were honored for their hope and courage to create a more positive future for themselves, their family and community.

The City of Houston Mayor’s Office of New Americas granted Citizenship Month certificates to students who participated in the Harvey relief Texan-French Alliance for the Arts – Be the Peace – Be the Hope Alliance program.

Be the Peace Be the Hope addresses students critical needs through arts and humanities. It’s unique social and emotional educational platform works in partnership with school districts to aid in healing trauma, regaining hope, exploring strengths, and envisioning a more positive future.

Through art, Wisdom High School students expressed the dreams they want to make a reality in their new home country.
