This week the Compliance team from Multilingual provided two training sessions for Campus EL Clerks and EL Data Entry Personnel regarding the English Learner Data Entry and Documentation.
In both days, nearly 100 participants learned the skills needed to support the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) in charge of making assessment decisions on an individual student basis. For this school year already, almost 200 personnel have been trained. The goal is to have at least one member on every campus trained in EL Data Entry before September 2018 ends.
Participants were led by Program Specialist, Audrey Torres. “One of their main concerns was how to identify all transferring from another Texas district ELs and all possible new to Texas ELs on their campus. We were able to clarify the process and provide insight on how to solve this concern with step-by-step directions and procedures.” According to Torres, attendees will now be able to enter data into the Student Information System (SIS), “this process is key in order to appropriately document decisions made by the LPAC for English Learners and monitored students.”
The Compliance team from Multilingual will offer additional training dates on September 19 at Hattie Mae (bring a laptop) and September 26 at Teledyne. If you are planning to attend, please register through OneSource by searching the COURSE 1168001. Make sure you have the prerequisite of completing the Chancery/SIS Online Training for Special Populations and the Security Form for Chancery Special Populations.
