Multiple HISD campuses are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs Sept. 15- Oct. 15., with a variety of events that highlight the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched this country and society.

Throughout the month, schools will be hosting a variety of events showcasing performances, music festivals, food tastings, art shows, and many other displays of the rich Hispanic culture that takes place in each classroom across the district.
Today, Roosevelt Elementary is presenting their Heritage Program just like Wainwright Elementary and Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts did last week!
Elementary, Middle and High School campuses have developed lesson plans that center around well-known Hispanic individuals, including scientists, lawyers, military and government leaders, and musicians.
To encourage more student participation in these activities, here is a list of great resources and links to get you through Hispanic Heritage Month!
